The National
Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCAA), as the prime government arm
dedicated to the promotion and development of Philippine arts and culture is
currently distributing and donating valuable books and materials on arts and
culture funded by the Commission to different academic schools, universities
and institutions. The aim of the program is to provide cultural resources and
materials to the various cities and municipalities in Metro Manila and nearby
regions.
As one of the
chosen recipients of NCAA’s program, Davao del Norte State College represented
by Professor Leonida P. Piorac, BOT Secretary, received thirty copies of books
and educational materials worth P 10, 000.00 from the Commission last February
18, 2013 in Intramuros, Manila through NCCA’s Media Affairs Coordinator, Ms.
Eileen C. Agrosino. The donated books are works of different Filipino writers
and artists that showcase Philippine arts and culture.
